A little bit of background...

I started learning piano at the age of seven. Taking to the instrument quickly, I progressed through the ABRSM classical exams. At 13 I took up the double bass to fill a role in the school orchestra and, soon after, diversified my playing to join a jazz band. Around this time I also started playing acoustic guitar. At 17 I picked up electric bass, quickly transferring my double bass skills and satisfying my inner rock star by joining a band!

At school I took GCSE and A-Level music. At university I took this to degree level, gaining a 2.1 with honours in music and sound engineering. After graduation I continued music performance through a number of orchestras and bands, and currently play bass in a successful wedding and function band, The Reason.

I took on my first piano students while still at school and now teach all three instruments on which I also perform. I tailor lessons to each individual's requirements. I have tutored some through ABRSM and Rock School grade exams for academic progress. For others, I simply enable them with an enjoyable new hobby.

In addition to instrumental teaching, I also have experience providing coaching for music theory exams. I am also available for instruction and consultation in professional audio recording and techniques. If this is of interest to you, please don't hesitate to contact me.
